Welcome to Lingo-Roo!

Hello, all! Welcome to my first blog for Lingo-Roo!

There are many reasons you may have happened upon my site. Perhaps you are a parent who is concerned about your child’s language development. Maybe your child has already been diagnosed with speech/language difficulties, and you are seeking therapy in the Twin Cities area, or elsewhere via Skype—or just some practical ideas for what you can be doing at home to supplement the therapy he/she is already receiving. Or, maybe, you are a professional (i.e., speech pathologist, Pediatrician, etc.) and you are hoping to read some fresh ideas and interact with other professionals about how we can better encourage language development in young children. Regardless of what brought you here—you are in the right place!

I hope that this blog will be informational, practical, and that it will provide you with some tools to incorporate language-learning strategies into everyday activities. My desire is that it will be a place where you will turn to get new ideas, based on the current research in the field of language development. And, that you will then take that information and apply it to your everyday lives. Most of all, I hope that you will have fun—that you will enjoy the process of learning, applying, and living the new strategies and ideas found within my blogs.

I hope that you will interact with the blogs—I invite your comments and questions, and hope that this will become a forum for discussion on some pretty hot topics in speech therapy, language development and parenting. Thanks for tuning in—check back regularly for updates!
